PROJECT: Sasquatch! – The Line Up….

So here it is….

The long anticipated line-up for SASQUATCH!

So many GREAT BANDS. I can’t even begin to select a focus on who to talk about.

The big bands are the Foo Fighters, Death Cab For Cutie, Modest Mouse, Wilco and The Flaming Lips.

Black Mountain, Dan Mangan  are just some of the local acts that I am flipping out over as well as other Canadian favourites Sam Roberts and Wolf Parade.

We were handed a press release that said Death From Above 1979 is also stopping by to continue their reunification shows.

CHROMEO and MSTRKRFT will DJ up a loud set at the hot-sweety dance tent.

And DEERHUNTER is pretty much all I was hoping for, and my wishes came through.

The most notable absentee from the rumoured line up is The Arcade Fire but there is enough talent to fill that void of Canadiana.

Foo Fighters, Death Cab For Cutie, Modest Mouse, Wilco, The Flaming Lips, The Decembrists, Bright Eyes, Iron & Wine, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Bassnectar, Robyn, Flogging Molly, Death From Above 1979, Pink Martini, Cold War Kids, Old 97’s, Ratatat, Wolf Parade, Chromeo, Guided By Voices, Yeasayer, Beach House, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings,Local Natives, Matt & Kim, Deerhunter, MSTRKRFT, Trailer Park Boys, Sleigh Bells, Major Lazer, Flying Lotus, Skrillex, Tokyo Police Club, Fitz &  The Tantrums, !!!, Archers of Loaf, Against Me!, The Thermals, Best Coast, CSS, Surfer Blood, Jenny & Johnny, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, The Head & The Heart, Bonobo, City and Colour, Reggie Watts, K-Os, Gayngs, Tim Minchin, The Drums, The Radio Dept, Young the Giant, The Antlers, Sharon Van Etten, Villagers, Stornoway, Aloe Blacc, Black Mountain, Moondoggies, Noah & the Whale, Sam Roberts Band, Secret Sisters, Twin Shadow, Das Racist, Wye Oak, Tig Notaro, Wheedle’s Groove, Smith Westerns, Rival Schools, Foster the People, Alberta Cross, S. 1. I have been following your blog for some time, not as a member, but just email updates. I absolutely love your photography. It has been very inspirational in my own art ventures. I’m an international student abroad in Germany. In my HL IB art class we have the task of doing a cultural project with any medium. Your photo of the man in the traditional Native American war bonnet has been on my computer for some time (wallpaper much!) and I wanted to ask if I you’d be okay with me using it for that cultural project.

I would be running it through photoshop to generate a stencil, then having this stencil printed out on a very large scale to make a spray painted image on a large canvas. I don’t wish to pass off any of your skill as my own and would cite you as inspiration and a source in my work book (a mandatory part of the class showing our process) as well as mention you as the original photographer in a description card below the finished canvas. If all goes to plan it would be hung up somewhere in my school.
